I am looking at "building" a boat for freshwater fishing and am looking at going with a Garmin Force 57", and 2 Garmin Echomap UHD 93SVs.
Anyone have any experience with them? I am much more familiar with the Minnkota/Humminbird set ups but the more I look, the more I am impressed with the Garmin.

I love my Garmin Eco 73sv. Only got one and not Live, but love it nonetheless.

Unless you really need to follow contours, there's zero reason to match TM with graphs. I am not a fan of the Force, mostly because of the wireless connection to the foot control.
I currently have two Garmins and one Lowrance. Be cautioned on the 93 thought. Only one network port, so it you one day want to have Livescope, you'll need another box to network the two units. If you go with a 106, you'll get that extra port.

Thanks. I might be mistaken, but on the build sheet in order to get side imaging on the bow with any Garmin SV, it needs to be matched with a Force.
Is that not accurate?

quote:Not entirely. I do not see the purpose of SI on the front. But, you do not have to have a built in ducer to get side imaging. They make a TM mount for the GT54/56 if you really want side imaging up front, and you could run that ducer on any make of TM.

I'm getting the Garmin livescope put on my new boat as we speak. I am doing the minn kota terovva and it is supposed to link up with the helix7 that came on the boat.

I am going to get a Terrova with MDI and a Helix 9 at the bow.
Lowrance at the console. I ordered a Lund. Deep V Lunds fit my fishing needs perfectly.
