so most of you bitch and cry that O doesn't know the offensive side of the ball and blame him when offense isn't playing well. that is some retarded logic
I blame O for the record...not for how each unit is playing. If we get it all turned around I will not give O the credit for the offense playing better, unlike RB10 lol, I will give credit to the Offensive staff and players.
Good lord. You’re being intentionally obtuse.
Orgeron is in charge of the program. He’s in charge of recruiting. He’s in charge of game planning. And he’s in charge of hiring/managing the staff.
His mission is to win football games. It’s his responsibility to put us into position to do so. The how and why don’t matter so much, except to the extent that he made the decisions to get us there.
If we win a game because the defense played lights out, Orgeron recruited those players and hired Jones. He gets credit. If we win a championship because Joe Burrow turned out to be the GOAT quarterback, Orgeron went out and got him. He gets credit.
If we lose games because the defense is completely lost and Bo Pelini is shite, Orgeron hired him. He gets blame. If we lose games because our OL can’t block and our WR’s drop balls and Max Johnson throws it behind his back.. you get the idea.
Do I expect Orgeron, with his background, to be making schematic adjustments, or teaching quarterback technique? No. But that’s not the point. He put all of these pieces into place. If the pieces fail and he can’t fix it himself, then he has failed. It’s as simple as that.
And if Peetz turns out to be a great OC, we turn things around, and we miraculously win 9-10 games - guess what, that does in fact vindicate Orgeron for his decisions in the offseason.
It’s really not that complicated. Orgeron won a championship. He gave us our best season of all time. Now he needs to prove that he didn’t get lucky, and that he has the skills to put the pieces together again.

It’s the last part of this that has most LSU fans thinking it’s over. They don’t necessarily want it to be over, most want LSU to win, the end just seems inevitable.
