What gives you confidence that any kind of turnaround this season is sustainable beyond just this year?
He totally botched the two major coordinator hires he made last year, then got a total do over this year and got to hire 3 new coordinators and 3 new position coaches and those hires don't look like they're making one bit of difference. The team doesn't appear to be fundamentally sound, plays tentatively and with low energy, and looks lost at times.
I'm sorry, but when you keep changing coaches, but the team plays exactly the same, at some point you've got to look at the head coach as the main issue.
As for yours fears about a 2 to 3 year rebuild, the longer you wait, the longer that rebuild will take. Honestly, I think if we get the right guy hired, there won't even be much of a rebuild. The biggest plus in my mind for making the move this year is that the state is loaded with talent, so I don't expect the recruiting class to lose as many guys as we would in a year where we're relying on a lot of out of state guys.
