I would love to know if she gave her husband a heads up she got into a shouting match with a visiting general and said general was calling him the next day.

My cool story about a military wife using her husband’s rank is on the good side of it.

Back in 1988, I was in Panama, doing MP garrison work with the MP company on the Pacific side. The CSM of the Southern Command (that’s the highest ranking NCO of everything south of Texas in the Western Hemisphere, he had pull, to say the least).
His house had a MP guard stand in front of it, we worked 6-hour shifts.
We were not allowed to eat or drink while on post (other than water).
If you worked the post in front of the CSM’s house on Ft Amadore, his wife would bring you a full blown breakfast/lunch/dinner/late dinner every shift. She was a tiny, 5’ tall Japanese woman that could cook her arse off.
When they first moved there a few months earlier, and she started feeding the MP, the commander of the MP company thought it would be a good idea to tell her she could not do that.
When he confronted her, she says she can do anything she wants, her husband is the CSM of the Southern Command.
They never asked her not to do it again.
