Ya not at all - and I will say there are some book readers who aren't happy with the LotR trilogy due to unnecessary changes as they perceived them.
I personally don't find such people to be reasonable or willing to accept the reality of what an adaptation is but they do exist.

Yeah, I do think it is sad the Scouring of the Shire was left out, but I understand why. If you put it in, it’d have to be left out of the theatrical release because that’d add another hour to the film.
