They do the emergency approval first so the nutjobs that can't wait to jab their kids go get it, then the newest iteration of the sunken cost fallacy begins growing where the rest of people acquiesce until we get to the same number of adults that don't want it.

Exactly.
They interviewed the governor of Nebraska over the weekend. Interviewer was pushing the guy about mandatory vaccines for the kids in school. "You already require the vaccine for chicken pox, polio, etc, etc, etc". To which the governor responded, "yes, but a child in Nebraska is 26x more likely to die in a car accident than from COVID-19." The interviewer quickly changed the subject.
