Depends on what your definition of “many” is.
If you believe the official count, that’s 600k Americans for the past two years.
Even if it’s half that, most would probably consider 300k as “many.” The best figure is probably taking a look at excess deaths since many of the older people killed would have died during the last two years anyway. Not sure what the number is currently.
