Could it be that Payton is purposely holding Deuce back to make him want it SOOOOOO bad that when he finally does put him in he is gonna run like Forrest fricking Gump. "Run Forrest, runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!"

Sounds like Deuce has got something to prove. He may just go out there with a little chip on his shoulder this year.

The Deuce stunt has become very OLD I point the finger at ONE person only for not having another able bodied power rusher in our lineup at this point of the season. Opposing defense must lick their chops to play us. Rush the passer (blitz) and play cover deep. That equates to wins when playing the Saints with no power ground attack

I hope to God that I am wrong, but I think Deuce is done.
That knee will never be the same after microfracture surgery. Not very good outcomes with return to sports (most notably basketball, but football especially).
With that type of surgery, the first sign of failure is the repeated swelling occuring after activity this far post-op. Swelling=something is wrong.

Again, I hope I am wrong, but just my medical opinion.

maybe just holding him out so we have a fresh powerful, fully healed powerback for the second half of the season...who knows.

It won't pay to wait til the second half of the season if we are 3 to 4 games back in our division. If the Saints don't win the division we can forget about the wild card spot. The NFC East it too strong. Bank it.

Payton has never played Deuce much... Deuce style of running doesn't make Payton look like a offensive guru. So he stays on the bench
