Ha, just checked the LSU game and it's 24-3 Troy! Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Geaux Saints tomorrow.

Drew Brees on playing sloppy...

Q: Is that confidence more difficult to come by after two difficult losses to divisional opponents than earlier in the season after close losses?

A: Yes, we’re well beyond saying we could be or should be 6-3 or whatever, because you look at these two games against divisional opponents on the road where we had very lackluster showings and just felt like we were outplayed. It seemed like they played with more intensity and more emotion, which is not us at all. We’re going to have to fix that.

Q: What is the answer?

A: The same thing that got us out of that 0-4 hole last year, just getting back to what we do extremely well, the things we are all very confident in, because when you step on the field on Sunday, you want to be prepared, you want to feel as confident as you can about the gameplan, which means you feel good about what you’re doing and that you’re comfortable with what’s going to happen. Obviously do what you’re going to do during the week and get your body ready to play as well. We’ve been beat up like everybody else. As long as we can get to that point and play physically on gameday, we’ll be fine.

Q: Are there other guys that need to be challenged? Has complacency set in?

A: I think there’s always guys that need to be challenged. I think I’m always a guy looking for the next challenge. I think there’s plenty of those guys. I know what you’re getting at and we have the right type of guys on this team. We don’t have the type of guys that need to be motivated necessarily. We have a lot of self motivated guys on this team that are always looking for the next challenge. We have a huge challenge ahead of us which is win this game on the road at Kansas City and find a way to get on a roll here. We’ve proven that we can win a number of games in a row in the past. We rattled off four in a row after starting off 0-4 last year. The year before we had a couple of runs. We need to get back to feeling that way.

I sure hope that he isn't the only one feeling like they have been playing like shite. Maybe he's hinting at the DC to play hardnose D.

re: Lance Moore???

I wouldn't say Colston sucked, but he did drop some big plays that he usually catches. I just hope he's not nursing his thumb. :dunno: He needs to get back to last year form and come up with those plays again. Lance Moore has been awesome lately tho.

re: Saints offense

No, if you pass and thats all you do the D can defend it too easy. Even the short passing game if we refuse to run, even a little. I mean, we had 17 rushes for 105 yards!! That's an amazing YPC and we didn't even run in the 2nd quarter when we were only down by 11 points. Thats not that hard to overcome if you use the f-ing offense correctly i.e. run game!!!!

re: lets add up all the injuries

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/12/08 at 7:08 am to
Though Payton does have a part in this cuz he doesn't use the DEUCE!!! when we need crucial yards, but the DC can't call blitzes, or at least rush, hurry the oppossing QB our D can't stop anybody, and I mean anybody (except JaMarcus Russell). It's too hard to have shootouts every game every Sunday. We would be unstoppable if we had a 15 avg. ranked D. The run would help out too. Geaux Saints :pimp:
Rook, I'm there with you dude. I mentioned the 10-6 record in '06 in another post and we got a #2 seed!! That means the rest of the NFC was horrible that year. Payton is an ok offensive coach if he just called plays 50-50 with run vs. pass. I mean even a 60-40 pass run would be good cuz we are explosive. But if teams KNOW that all we really do is pass then it makes it really easy for the other teams D to defend the pass, no matter who is at QB or anything else. A run game of any type at least keeps the LBs and SS in check somewhat. I just hope Payton wakes up one day.

P.S. I felt really sorry for the Saints and Brees on Sunday, they just looked embarrassed and ashamed and really just out of sync.
 Interesting post dude! I wouldn't have known this cuz I didn't notice Payton doing that. I hope thats what it was about and he does something about ASAP!!! BITCHES!!!

re: 22-21

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/10/08 at 7:06 pm to
I don't care. Even in 2006 when we went 10-6 we had the number 2 seed in the NFC. That's actually pretty horrible. I understand injuries but good teams know how to overcome them and still win. Besides, most of our D is back in the secondary. Whats wrong with these guys? I know MM broke his knee but he still didn't do shite this year. The complete secondary needs to be rebuilt and for god sakes can we get some damn pressure on the QB!! :banghead:

Anything CLOSE TO .500 isn't anything to brag about. If Payton was 26-17 it would be a little more respectable but it's not.

22-21 :rotflmao:
This is gonna be a hard habit for him to quit. I don't understand why he thinks this way. I mean, he is an NFL Head Coach right?
It would be cool but I would much rather a division title and a playoff birth.
The Giants. I pulled for them last year when we didn't make the playoffs. Go Eli!!!

re: 58 passing attempts

I just meant that we were breaking away a few and then all we do is throw so Drew goes right back to the sidelines too fast. It might have been balanced the 1st half but the timing of picking a run or pass is what made the difference. Such as pass on 3rd and 2 and not run when the run would have keep Brees on the field, we would of had more time of possesion and stopped ATL from scoring so damn fast and eating up the clock!! Just bad timing of some of the passes he called when it should of been run, thats all I'm saying.

re: Payton is sooooooooo stubborn

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/10/08 at 12:23 am to
NO! By abandoning the run, I also meant that on 1st downs he would run and get 7-8 yards and then throw too much after that. Why not keep running and get the first, use more timeo on the clock and give the D a damn break for once!! Yeah, we were down, but when it was 14-6 and we were moving the ball with the run, keep doing what got you in the red zone and maybe score a TD!! Theres a lot more but I just don't feel like explaining myself, sorry guys.
Yeah, one of my good friends is a Giants fan and he laughed at me when that trade happened. It seems he was right about him after all. Go Bill Miller!!!!!

Startling News...

Shockey hurt his ankle. Don't know how bad but NFL.com reports that he hurt it. :banghead:

What else is new?
Im on board, but really, who will listen to us?
I have been saying this since week 3! When we were running the ball in the first it was working fine. He refuses to stick to it, the combo with Deuce, Stecker, and Thomas was the best I've seen all year and he still got away from running the damn ball. This guy would probably play without a RB if he had his way. 58 pass attempts, Jesus!!! We weren't that far behind in the first half and if he would have kept running the ball it would have been a whole different ball game. Every team plays pass against us cause thats all Payton ever calls, anyone can defend that when all you have to do is play against the pass, GD Payton.

re: payton???

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/9/08 at 9:50 pm to
Yeah, the fans have been wanting Deuce all season and when he goes out there he gets the tough yards and makes the TD and Payton waits til the 4th to play him. Yeah, what a jackass Payton is. Use what works and you might win a few. Stop counting on Brees to win every game for you. Whatever, I give up on this fool.

re: 58 passing attempts

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/9/08 at 9:45 pm to
Thats cause Payton hated Deuce and fails to use the run no matter how good we are doing. We were racking up the yards in the 1st half and he just refuses to use what works. :dunno:

re: Duece 5 rushes

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/9/08 at 9:43 pm to
First of all Deuce is not washed up. In the 1st quarter we were running the ball like crazy, with Decue, Stecker, and Thomas racking up the yards. Then the genius that Payton is abandons the run and starts getting one dimensional again. What a jackass. The team just looked embarrassed out there, Drew, Payton, and Shockey just looked so upset and emabrrassed it made me embarrassed. I never thought I would see this team look that bad.

re: Saints will win 2 more games

Posted by SaintsFanInFL on 11/9/08 at 9:39 pm to
I believe we will go 7-9 this year, MAYBE 8-8, and I will bet anyone right now that if Detroit is still winless when they play us that they get their first win! It sucks to say it but after seeing the team basically play that shitty and Drew getting that upset on the sideline, we are done for.
