Veteran of an 80 CJ-7 with built AMC 360 (sold), a 2000 TJ (totalled @ 175k), currently 2015 JKUR (~95k).

CJ was the most fun (with V-8). TJ was most versatile - small, manueverable yet sufficient for 1000+ mile road trips. JKUR - damn big but luxurious and more comfy on road trips.

I was working on my scrambler resto-mod for a few years: Dana60/14 bolt axles, fi350, 700r4, twin-sticked dana 300 w/SYE, but home life and work got in the way. I’ve sold off most of the parts but still have the frame, body and the motor.

I can’t imagine driving my CJ7’s with the V8. The 4.2 was plenty torquey enough for me. I’m not a go fast kind of guy.
