China makes claims about military capabilities that turn out to be bullshite time after time. They've got one, one, somewhat operational aircraft carrier. Their latest LHD caught fire last year sitting in their shipyard and their other diesel aircraft carrier broke down on a test swim and had to be towed back. Nothing they have can launch heavy combat ready aircraft either, what is a long range missile going to do when the boat that's carrying it is being attacked by fighter jets launched even further away?

There won't be a boat carrying it. Anti-ship ballistic missiles are land based and extremely long ranged. The issue is that (assuming these missiles work), US carriers could be destroyed before they were in the effective range for their aircraft to strike targets in China. In other words, carrier strike groups would be too vulnerable to even get close enough to the combat zone to be of any use.
