I once got to a drive through ATM, and the screen says "Would you like another transaction?" Some guy had driven away without his debit card. So, I push no, because I was raised correctly, and look the guy up on social media. I message him "I have your debit card" and this jackass has the tenacity to ask me to deliver it to him at a downtown Baton Rouge bar, since he was already out. I did so, because I was heading there, but I thought it was really shitty on his part. He wasn't even thankful when I handed him the card. I chalked it up to him being an electrical engineer with zero social skills (LinkedIn)

I know, CSB'ette.

Same thing recently. I followed the guy 2 or 3 blocks to a convenience store & returned his card. He graciously thanked me several times & paid for my small purchase ( under $5). Don't let a jerk like that discourage you from helping others. Most people are genuinely grateful.

Back to the OP. I don't understand removing the contents. I would have just kept it myself (if I didn't trust the employees) and found him myself and given it to the police if I couldn't.
