Do you hover your putter?

Or just start the stroke with the putter resting behind the ball?
I started hovering a couple of weeks ago. Immediate improvement hitting my line, but struggled with pace for a couple of rounds

I do a slight forward press. Noting major but I have found it works best for me.

I can't hover any club. Throws me off. It's why I suck in bunkers, especially fairway bunkers.

Every time I’ve tried to do this I struggle with pace and then go back to not hovering. I probably should try to stick to it for longer but I’m of the instant gratification generation

Struggled with pace was a huge understatement. I was embarrassing myself. But i got used to it & now I’m putting better than I have in years. Nothing to brag about, but better

My last movement before pulling the trigger is to raise the club straight up off the ground.
