Anyone know WHY the band didn't travel....

if there was ever a time for the Golden Band to travel, going to the Rose Bowl for a performance would be on the bucket list!
I would think they could afford to take the band...

It takes a lot of time, planning and money to take the band, even a pep band, on a plane trip. That all has to be handled well in advance, so I imagine the uncertainty of what travel and COVID restrictions would look like on the west coast played a role.

This. I believe they announced a while back that these were the reasons why the band would not travel.

They said it was because of athletic department budget cuts due to covid.

Because those in charge look down on the band and don’t support them and won’t spend the money needed to even bring a pep band
Pretty sad to see
Don’t believe for a second they don’t have the money or it has anything to do with covid. Those are just convenient excuses they used to not have to spend money on the band

If LSU said it wasn't in the budget for TGBFTL, it might not have been. This decision was made awhile back where we were still not 100% on stadium occupancy. I think the university is going to regret this because we'll likely recoup 2020 losses this year
