Douglas County actually goes red in the vast majority of presidential elections.

I live in Douglas County, and my wife is a high school teacher here. While we're definitely turning more purple, it's solidly red and will be for a while. We're the last stop before you get to Colorado Springs, front lines if you will.

I interact with the students from time to time and can tell you there is a generation being raised with brains still.

Red in presidential elections /= conservative.
