Well, this could be interesting with the Taliban trying to hold the entire nation with 75k fighters and a lot of armed enemies.

quote:

As President Joe Biden continues to grapple this week with the disastrous fallout from the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan on Sunday, the Afghan people appear to have begun the process of taking matters into their own hands.

Of course, they’ve had two decades to do so, but although the NATO-backed forces weren’t enough to stand up to the Taliban over the last few weeks as the terror group swept across the country, that doesn’t mean there aren’t still plenty of weapon-wielding Afghans who refuse to take this siege sitting down.

Talibans going to frick up when they keep killing police and people with weapons who surrender....

Word spreads fast and in a short time those people with weapons won't be surrendering. They'll die fighting.

“Guys, it’s just like Arab Spring! Let’s call it ‘Afghan Fall!’”

Wait, no not that kind of fall...

Keep in mind “fighting age” men in Afghanistan have come of age after 2001 - it’s an obvious point but the old standards mean less. Young adults in Afghanistan will be different than pre-9/11, just remains to be seen if they are better or worse.

This is an interesting point because I’ve been doing some research on the practice of “bacha bazi”, “chai boys”, etc which are just a euphemism for child rape. Supposedly this is a very common (and brutal) practice in Afghanistan among some tribes. The Taliban (again supposedly) strictly forbid this practice and punished it by execution. According to many Afghans and US military, it has been rampant again since the Taliban was forced out by US invasion.

If all of that is true, the “fighting age men” of Afghanistan have grown up over the past 20 years possibly being raped by Afghan National Army members. One those young men are going to be pretty messed up and filled with rage. Two, will they welcome the Taliban and join up with them to extract revenge on ANA who abused them?

A lot of the anti-Taliban resistance is along ethnic lines. The Hazaras are Shiite and so obviously they have militias that have been fighting the Taliban but you've also got the Tajiks in the Panjshir Valley and a few other places. Most of the fighters and leaders that are trying to form these groups are ethnic Tajiks.

I think they made up a huge percentage of the Northern Alliance too back in the day.

I don't think that people in Afghanistan are going to believe the Taliban promises in this round 2 take over.

How could Biden, Rice, Cameltoe, Austin and Milley be dumb enough to pull the troops out before they got the helpless civilians and support staff out???
