I have the exact same rifle and have the Caldwell bipod with the longer legs on it too. I just duct taped some foam pipe insulation around the legs, to make it comfortable to carry slung on my shoulder and install it so that it folds to the rear instead of forward. It works pretty well for me.

Love my Savage 93R.
It’s a tack driver, but heavy with the bull barrel. Still plan on trying it out on squirrels this fall.
