One play I’ll never forget is the Bluegrass miracle
I was with a group of guys on a golf trip at Perdido Key. We were listening to the game on the radio while playing at Kiva Dunes. We switched the radio off in disgust when it appeared an LSU loss to Kentucky was imminent. So we had no idea how the game ended.
While unloading our clubs in the parking lot an Auburn fan said “How about that LSU game?” We thought he was giving us a hard time, We went inside the clubhouse for drinks and everyone was talking about the ending but we just couldn’t believe it until we saw the game highlights on the clubhouse TV. The drinks flowed more freely after that.

I was listening to the radio broadcast over the Internet (which was pretty dicey in 2004) because JP had a doubleheader and we were stuck with an Arkansas game that was a blowout. I’ll never forget hearing Hawthorn start to lose his mind, followed by “Jack Hunt.” Good times.
I wouldn’t call that play the single greatest because that was definitely a mediocre team, but it was memorable.
