12 so far, and the blue oval still can’t resolve the the carbon build up issue. That aside, forced induction causes excessive strain on engine internals. The most reliable engines of all time have all been naturally aspirated from a variety of makers: Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, even VW.
All the little tricks like turbo charging, auto start stop, and cylinder deactivation are the lazy company’s way of satisfying the EPA hippy brown shirts.
