1. Frank "Gabby" Gabreski was the top scoring ace in Europe, flying the P47. His daughter in law, Terry Gabreski, is the first female USAF Lieutenant General and an LSU graduate.

2. P47 pilot Quentin Aanenson was part of the Ken Burns WWIi series and the subject of his own documentary. He did part of his training in Batin Rouge and married a girl from there LINK

My uncle by marriage was from a small town in Washington and also did his training at Harding Field in BR, where he met my Dad’s sister. He flew P47s with the 365th Fighter Group (the Hell Hawks).

I love looking at your work Vader

Takes me back to when I did models as a kid. My uncle would get so pissed because I would get in a hurry. So, my aunt would step in and guide me through my early builds.
