Splitgate - who is playing it?

The excessive hacking has turned my squad against COD for the foreseeable future. Sad day.
We hopped on Splitgate last night for the first time. It's essentially Halo Jr. The visuals have an arcade mix to it for me. Never played it, but the visuals reminded me of Valorant. Its gameplay is very easy to get used to and I like the portal capability. Once I have that use down, the tom foolery I'll be able to pull on opponents will be fun.
I don't see it being a long term play for me, but it is definitely fun and a good change of pace. If we played 15 games last night we won probably 10 of them.
Game modes we played:
Team Deathmatch - score to 50
SWAT - head shots are one shot
Shotty Snipes - very fun. shotgun is pretty OP
VIP - kill the VIP who has double the health
Oddball - holding the ball scores points
I think game modes are unlocked as you level up.

Been playing a bunch the past week with my WZ buddies. Enjoying the hell out of it so far.
Using the portals is not my favorite, mainly because I just want to mindlessly run and gun, but it's obvious that mastering them is a key to higher ranked gameplay. Ranked is kind of a bummer too, it's full of sweats already for the most part and is limited to KOTH, domination, and 3v3 gunfights.
It gives me a ton of Unreal Tournament vibes if anyone remembers that jam from early 2000's.

I got the same vibe.
The movement is snappy and crisp which I like. I am not a fan of the portal's either but it adds layers of difficulty to the game that I think gives the game legs. To me it is like the building in fortnight..its the moment to moment gameplay that is really popular right now.
My son is who told me about it and asked me to play. I like Shotty's and Snipers very much and I think the maps are done really well.
There seems to be ZERO places to camp on any map and the spawn points have not be terrible at all.

I finally played some last night and I had a really good time. I wasn't using the portals much at first but the more I understood the maps and the flow of the matches I started using them more and more.
Interested to see what more they add to the game post Beta.
