And let’s take a look at how that stat is complete fool’s gold. Alabama played FCS school Western Carolina. and schools with final offenses that statistically ranked 110, 108, 105, 97, 93, 82, 81, and 74. That’s 9 games to pad the stats. Between LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, and A&M, they gave up an average of 35 per game. Ole Miss was the 81st ranked D, A&M was 62nd, and South Carolina was 105. Auburn was 28. Then they played that vaunted Michigan offense in a bowl game. This was a poor defense by Alabama standards, even though they were loaded with the top recruits in the country.
