In the case of Tesla if you want to charge your car to a usable capacity in 8 hours instead of 40 or 50 you must provide a dedicated 240 volt 50 amp circuit which means hiring an electrician, material cost, in some municipalities getting a permit, and buy the $600.00 Tesla wall connector.

While some need or choose to do that, for many it's not necessary. If you get 30-40 miles of charge overnight with the standard charger, that will get most people through the day/week, especially if they charge at work too.

Correct, which is certainly not "very expensive"

Already have a 60 Amp service in my garage.

Previous homeowner had a ceramic kiln in the garage.

Mrs Füt’s (no pics) next vehicle will be an EV.



PS to the OP- Your contention #4 was that the US’s Energy policy was unresolved as to fuel (coal/nuclear/gas).

That has nothing to do with EVs. Red herring argument.
