CP3 - Fertita had recently called his the worst contract in the NBA
Devin Booker - Promising young star, but not a superstar
Ayton - old school big that doesn’t REALLY have what it takes to be a superstar
Bridges - who?
Payne - who?
Cam Johnson - massive reach in the draft who could only shoot

Obviously this is the exception and not the rule, and I’m not saying the Pels are going to the Finals. But sometimes, basketball sense and fit just works out above marquee names. As others have said in other threads, this team does make more basketball sense than last year’s team. We all hope Griff isn’t done, but things aren’t all doom and gloom

Except I’ve been singing bridges and cam Johnson’s praises since 2019 watching them in the bubble.

The Pels have made a lot of good pickups in this vein.
