If we can go 9-3 and come one point away from a 10-1 regular season in 2004 with Marcus fricking Randall, then I don't know why everyone is shitting their pants this year. Our QBs don't look good? Duh you stupid fricks. What did you expect with two guys who don't have any experience at all? Mark Sanchez is so much more talented than Andrew Hatch that it's not even funny, yet he struggled last year in the Pac-10 with a team that boasts roughly 30 former 5* recruits. Sanchez had time in the system too, but he still couldn't grasp it fully. I don't know if some of you expected Harvard boy to dominate or what, but if you did, you're an idiot. App St and North Texas may be bad, but they're still college athletes. They aren't pushover peewee league bitches, so you have to expect struggles.

Look what Marcus Randall/JR did with the 2004 team. They were incredibly inconsistent and led a team without an identity all year to a 9-3 season with LESS talent than this year. We are a better team than Auburn, we are a better team than Alabama, we are a better team than South Carolina. Was anyone particularly impressed with UGA the other day? I sure wasn't. Remember what happened in 2004 at UF? I sure do. We are going to lose some games, but I can guarantee you that we'll win far more than we lose. 4/5 losses? Please. Are we just going to lose to every good team we play this year because of QB struggles? Some of you severly underestimate how could this LSU team is, and how good of a coaching staff we really have.

Randall had an arm where we didnt have to worry about him throwing simple passes

True, but Randall didn't have a brain. Hatch's pick last night was about as dumb a pass as I've seen recently, but I bet he's a better decision maker. If they want an arm, they'll go to Lee.

randall in 2004 (after playing all the hard teams):

63% completion rate, 7.83 ypa, and a 3:2 TD-INT ratio

Which is terrible considering Randall had been in the system for, what, four years?

This team has more talent than the 2004 squad, so if Hatch and Lee can just convert 60% of their passes and break even at TD/INT, we should definitely beat Auburn. The main thing is not turning it over. I think we can survive this Auburn game with a Jimbo esque approach.

like I said yesterday, a brain is useless if you dont have the tools to execute

Hatch didnt look too smart on that INT last night either. Not very smart.

One huge difference you have to factor in is that Randall was a 5th year senior, and had played 6 games in the 2002 season as a starter if I am not mistaken.

Experience is what is hurting Lee, and in all honesty, I wish they would've done one quarter for Hatch, one quarter for Lee and rotated. Lee has never had a chance to get into a rhythm and it hasn't really helped him to try many passes.

People don't realize how poorly Flynn started in some games last year, but got his rhythm later on in games.

Overall, these guys need experience, but we have the talent to win the SEC West even if they only get a little better.

63% completion rate at nearly 8ypa is not terrible by any means

easily

and it has shittier QBs. when you factor in 2004 JR, much shittier QBs

Yes, and Flynn looked like a downright idiot in the 2nd quarter against Alabama....It is the whole body of work which we will need to judge a player. We have not even seen Hatch take snaps in 2 full games. Premature judgements are regrettable.
