Stuff like this is amazing. My grandfather has a pretty large collection of old photos and stuff from his time in the navy during the Korean War.
When my grandfather and great uncle got together at family events, it was always a treat listening to them reminisce about their days in the Navy together. They became good friends in the service and my grandfather's sister picked them up from the train station when they returned home. She ended up marrying her brother's new Navy friend and they picked up another you g woman who was walking down the road. That "hitchhiker" ended up being my grandmother when my grandfather married her a few months later.
I always loved listening to the stories like that. Especially as I got older and more interested in history.
