Same profile there won't be much difference in performance and a square foot of 12ga only weighs 1/4lb more than 14ga. Bends/ribs/corrugation will give it additional strength which is why I brought up the profile.

The 14 gauge is steel tread plate and weighs 125 lbs
The 12 gauge is smooth plate and weighs 198 lbs
