As someone who's been to every Alabama game from 2012-2020 home and away it is by far the most fun game of the year. I don't like the idea of running from them. I think that's a chicken shite attitude.

Well this is not about running from anyone, the SEC brass made this decision and the schedule will be changed, LSU has nothing to do with it. If you go 2 8 team Divisions West and East and Bama/Auburn go East. Your schedule is different period. LSU did nothing to run from anyone, it is the reality of the new 16 team SEC.

Even if you go PODS that the SEC Network proposed and go 3 Games POD +2+2+2 from each of the other 3 PODS in year 1 and 2, then the other 6 in year 3 and 4, you are not going to play some games that you use to play (Bama, Auburn, Florida) but you will see UGA/TENN/UK for example more often, etc.

This!

When has the SEC ever cared what LSU wanted? Who runs the SEC? This is not about LSU running from Bama. It's about Bama running from LSU. I'm not saying they're scared of us, but they know that the West is traditionally the harder path to the SEC CG and LSU is usually the hardest team on that path. Why else do they always use their bye week for us?

They also know that winning championships brings in more paying fans than having exciting games and the best route to that is by creating the easiest path.

And if there is a 12 team playoff, it's a given that both teams in the SEC CG will make it. That will significantly decrease the relevance of the outcome. How long before they start playing freshmen in that game and give their starters a rest before the playoffs? If you think a few years down the road, it's not as crazy as you might think.
