Same question I posed in another thread.

If its just unvaccinated getting sick and dying, why do the unvaccinated people care? If someone knows the risks and makes the choice to not get vaccinated why do people care? I don't scream at people who smoke, I don't yell at people who ride motorcycles without a helmet, hell if you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane go right ahead. What is this all about, really?

Because you’re keeping the virus alive and mutating by becoming a host for it. It won’t survive and mutate at a fast rate if we all get vaccinated. The variant strains are what is dangerous. Delta is more contagious and causes worse symptoms. The point of the vaccine is to make it to where the strain(s) are contained in such a way that we don’t have a wild mutation that breaks through the efficacy of vaccination and turns us all back into hermits.

I’m not saying you are stupid or wrongheaded for not getting the vaccine. I will simply say that the vaccines have been administered to millions of people now and the side effects, at least the ones that show up within the first 6 months of vaccination, are known and are rare. Far rarer than the horrible effects COVID can have on even healthy people.

If you don’t want to get vaccinated, that’s fine, but I hope you understand that it will lead to another lockdown so we can keep the virus from continuing to spread and infect (and reinfect) people. If you like living with masks, by all means don’t get vaccinated. I for one don’t like masks and don’t want to deal with lockdowns again.

I’m sure this post will go over well, but in the event it doesn’t, I wish you all well no matter what your decisions.

I agree, with a caveat. I've always thought, if you CHOOSE to engage in a behavior that is proven to have harmful side effects or can end poorly, due so at your own risk, health and wealth. If you choose not to wear your seat belt, not wear a helmet, not get vaxxed, or whatever the behavior, the cost for your behavior should be solely on you. No ward of the state, no hogging the ICU for something completely preventable.

The ONLY reason I'd ever care is if it led to hospitals being at capacity which puts everyone at risk. Other than that I don't give a shite like you said
