When he was in the Er or Icu I assume he was assessed by a Neurologist. Do you know the results of that assessment? Did the Neurologist say he was brain dead?

I swear I'm not trying to piss you off I just really trying to understand what a physician determined his brain activity to be.

And please don't assume I'm on anybodies side. I have zero knowledge of the wife other than what has been posted. I support Josh's right to try all available treatments.

Regardless of anyone’s personal opinion on the matter, it seems pretty clear that in the absence of a living will his care decisions should be made by his mother who obviously loves him and has his best interests at heart.

It’s fine that his wife doesn’t want to take care of him, but if that’s the case she needs to GTFO and stop trying to profit from the situation. Seriously, if she doesn’t want to participate in trying to help him recover all she has to do is go away.

No Dr ever said he was brain dead. He was in a coma for a few days and in the hospital for a total of about 6 weeks. Maegan says when he left the hospital they said he was in a vegetative state and minimally consious but that is impossible. You can't be both at the same time. If you fit the criteria for one then you don't for the other. My guess is he was in a vegetative state to start with but then emerged to a minimally consious state. But about a month or so after leaving the hospital he became way more alert and responsive. Nothing was ever done to have him evaluated again. Maegan was not opting for treatment so the only thing the nursing home was concerned with was keeping him stable, feeding, bathing and stuff like that.
