I already have house plans drawn, but I am looking for someone to be able to make it 3D/Virtual since I am a visual person.

Any recommendations? I am not tech savvy enough to do SketchUp or any other programs.

Would love to but I'm slammed with salary and side work. You definitely only need a drafter. There are web services that will allow you to find a freelancer for a very affordable price but they typically don't natively speak English and are contract based so there isn't an avenue for changes after they are done modelling.

If it's a one-story house 3D modelling isn't difficult once the roof geometry is established. Before you try to find someone you should play around with some of the web based home modelers to see if you can get what you want.

Any suggestions on a free online modeler?

My biggest disappoint from when we designed and built our house was finding out that our architect doesn't do 3D computer imaging of the house plans he designed. I was so exited for my Property Brothers moment, but alas, it never came.

Not really, it's been a while since I tried one of them and I can do everything I need to in Revit.

I have done some SketchUp rendering not too long ago. If you just want to see the space in 3d and don't need to get all fancy with the reality of textures the free version can do a lot. Takes some playing around and watching YouTube videos to get the hang of it but once you get a handle on how it is creating objects it's not bad at all. I have only done flat roofs though so I'm not sure if there is a tool for modeling hipped roofs.

I've heard of floorplanner and planner5d but never used them.

Curious, how much do people charge to 3D model houses? I'm an Engineer and use 3D modeling software a lot, wondering if it's worth the time to do this on the side for extra money.

Render Quick
Jason at Render Quick has done some stuff for me in the past. Quality job and reasonably priced.

I used the Home Design 3D app on Windows just to get an idea of how my house plans would look in reality. It's really simple and has pre-made furniture, appliances, cabinets, etc that you can place throughout to get a sense of how everything will layout.
