I was younger during this but I remember hearing Saddam violated his treaty that stipulated his must allow UN inspectors do what was stated in the treaty and he refused. I think I remember 40 or so violations of treaties that was the reason behind the thought he had WOMD.

Even if not true.:he was evil. Not mad he is gone from this World.
