I never said we didn’t have the talent to compete for one. All I said was that everything fell in place in 2019. We do not have the confidence level of the QB position that we had in 2019. And I’m not sure about the RB position…..

You don't have to have it either. Unless your defense is mediocre or sucks. If LSU's defense is good, and the O-Line is good, Johnson (any QB for that matter) will thrive as long as they are put in a good position to be successful. Johnson is the real deal. This year could be a huge year for him. You just don't know until you play. But if I had to put money on it. LSU loses 2 games. Bama will be one of them, I don't know who the other is yet. Maybe Florida.

Pre-season 2019...nobody was predicting Joe Burrow was going to become JOE BURROW. CEH had been here 2 years already and most thought that Emery was going to beat him out by game 5. Can we win the natty in '21? Getting pleasantly surprised is one of the main reasons we all watch the games!

How do you know that? Last season when the game was on the line in Florida and also in Tiger stadium against Ole Miss, unlike Myles Brennan, Max Johnson played like he had ice water running through his veins. As he obviously inherited his father's genes.
