Finally watched the finale yesterday and stewed over it for a day. I've read through everyone's comments as well. At first, I felt incredibly short-changed with the ending.
- I was expecting something really dramatic...maybe some full-blown melt down or something at the dinner where all the guests were present that ended up involving most of them, if not all of them. We didn't get that.
- I was thinking that Paula's story would come to more of a dramatic ending with her maybe ODing or killing herself from the guilt of what happened to Kai. Nope.
- I figured Rachel would leave Shane and that maybe she'd catch him railing some other chick (maybe Olivia) because that just seemed to be on character for him. Didn't happen either.
- I definitely did not want Armond to be the body on the plane they mentioned in episode 1. frick.
BUT, now that I've thought about it. I'm pretty much at peace with how the storyline ended. Paula has to go back now with the knowledge that she completely fricked Kai over, probably ruining his life forever because of her delusional views on the world. Now that someone mentioned her possibly being pregnant, I hadn't thought of that. She probably isn't. I don't think morning sickness sets in quite that fast....but it would be icing on the cake if she was. After thinking about it for a while, I actually like that Rachel went back to Shane - not because I wanted his ending to be happy, but because they deserve each other. It was a realistic way to portray a relationship like that. He found his ridiculously hot arm candy, she found her ticket to the good life....but she only now realizes that she may not be happy with him? GTFO. Plus, as many of you have said, we all know that the relationship won't last. They both deserve the drama and pain and turmoil coming their way in the future. I'm still a bit pissed Armond was the one that got killed, but man he went off the rails from the first episode. I think we all figured Quinn would ditch the family at the airport, even though it would never work in reality. I'm still on the fence with Belinda, though. I get her disappointment when Tanya finally broke the news to her. I'm glad she blew off Rachel and I actually laughed at it because, to Belinda, I'm sure it seemed petty as frick. Plus she probably hears sob story after sob story from rich hotel guests about their problems in life. At the same time, though, if she couldn't tell that Tanya was as unstable as she was from all of their interactions, then that's on her.
I will say, though, Olivia topless at least once and more Rachel would have been nice.
