The only people that may have a real decision to make regarding the draft vs NIL stuff would be lower tier juniors that may not get a ton in the draft but have built a following while on campus. The money still won't be comparable (the draft would still likely pay way more) but it could help offset the lost bonus between Jr and Sr years.

The idea that you could come to school & make extra living money is certainly plausible & attractive in its own way.

But I just don’t foresee NIL money for baseball players competing with pro contracts.


And I’m sure branding for baseball players will change & improve with this but with the numbers available, most of these kids simply do not get the exposure needed to build that base.

A kid like freshman Jack bech will probably have more social media followers by the end of the year than anyone on the baseball team, for instance. College baseball just ain’t it
