My son has Mild to moderate level of ADHD...he refuses medication...so his mother and Ihave never witnessed the change other parents swear by...
His 504 accommodations were he got a little extra test time...but he didn't like asking for it...it helped his SAT a little
He graduated with honors
I credit schools for offering aid...and many options in course choices
The issue with public education is broken families...and big government
