You may be surprised at how seldom many of the local residents go to the beach.

I wouldn’t be. I’ve got three days in me to handle that much sand, sunscreen, and heat before I’m ready to leave.

Love the beach, but it’s in no way a forever home. I’d pick mountains, but I get depressed when winter is grey, cold, and dragging.

We’ve been full time at a beach town for the last year. We walk the beach and take the kayaks/SUPs out, but hardly ever sit out there.

The high temp is usually in the 70s or 80s.

Most of the island stayed open through winter. A lot of people were remote working and restaurants needed to make up income lost in March/April.

Mostly full timers and weekenders around us.

The only drawback so far was we got the worst of the gas shortage in May. The night Isaias blew through wasn’t fun either.

Mountains, within earshot of a mountain stream.
