Double edged sword here.

Trump endorsement of Cruz may have brought out the rural conservative voters and enough hard R's to save Cruz but it also energized a lot of democrats and left leaning suburb voters and gave us the Beto wave in Texas that wiped out a lot of GOP officials.

Trump's endorsement of Cruz may have been necessary but damn there was a lot of puckered buttholes on election night.

Greg Abbott was the only republican that was completely safe that year and 100% favored to win.

No, STRAIGHT TICKET VOTING did that. That's why it was removed for 2020 and beyond.
