What games are you looking to buy and what is your budget?

I've been following them closely for about 2-3 weeks now as I'm looking to jump in. Any pre-built that is a reasonable price sells out within seconds. There is no such thing as a sale or deal on pre-builts. Most are going for a stupid mark up. All of this is related to inflated GPU prices. Depending on the level of GPU you are looking for will determine the overall price of your pre-built

Go to buildapcsales on Reddit. Prebuilts get posted along with build parts. Check it a few times a time. Read comments and see what people say. A lot of people on there give good explanations of why it’s a good deal or bad deal. Be ready to pull the trigger.

Deal being in air quotes because it’s not really a deal at these prices.

This is very good advice.

You're gonna pay a lot more for prebuilt I imagine, but you probably already know that.

Aren't video cards still outrageously priced?

I was fortunate enough to get a 1050 before the prices went up, and that's all I need really for a while.

Since GPUs are nonexistent at MSRP, Pre-builts are actually cheaper. Many pre-builts can be found at the price that the GPU alone is selling for on Ebay. With that said, still not considered a "deal" since those GPUs are going for 2-3x MSRP
