That was my 70s AstroWorld experience, too. You mom and my mom probably had the same big purse, complete with a thermos full of Kool-Aid.

Hell yes. That's what we did too. I think that was very common for vacationers from Louisiana and Mississippi. I was lucky to get a little Astro World Bat or a hat. We didn't eat much in the park.

I remember Astro World encouraged picnicking at the car as they had some trees and shaded picnic tables outside the gates in the parking lot.
