Got in 40 mid day yesterday, 2.5 hours. Got really brutal at the end, as my Garmin was picking up 99F on the pavement. I didn’t eat nearly enough or bring enough fuel with me (didn’t bring any other than Gatorade Zero). Got some pretty gnarly quad cramps that set in. Got me a little worried. Although unlike running, I don’t see it as a huge deal to stop and stretch them out. I would never stop in a race (run), unless it was impossible to move any more. Never really had cramping issues before throughout my years of running. Maybe once or twice on a hot training run.

I’m thinking I need a good bike fitment, as mentioned earlier in the thread. Maybe I’m too quad dominant in the saddle? I was fitted at the Bicycle Shop near LSU when I bought my bike, but could probably use a more in depth fitting.

Anybody familiar with Bayou Bicycles? They have a guy there that looks like he’d be good.

Quad pain could be a saddle that is a hair too low. I got it pointed out on a ride a while back, raised it a little on the fly and it was an immediate relief.
