In the next 2 weeks LSU will be on ESPN Classic 4 times from the 90's
Tues.Sept 16th @ 1:00 vs.Auburn from 1996 in the inferno game in which Raion Hill had a couple of picks to win it,one on a 2 pt.conv. if memory serves me right. 19-15 LSU
Fri.Sept 19th @1:00 vs. Auburn from 1997 Cecil runs wild but Teppers wonderful def.scheme cost us. 31-28 AU
Mon.Sept 22nd @11:00 a.m. Vs. Moo U from 1993 in Stark Vegas. 18-16 LSU
Wed.Sept 24 th vs. Moo U from 1999 in a horrible call on the goalline which leads to our only loss against Moo U in the last 16 years,15-1 is still not to shabby. 17-16 Moo U

All times are CST

Seems like in 97 we had a 28-24 lead and a 3rd and 2 and instead of running Cecil or Faulk to get the 1st down and run out the clock we tried a stupid pass, punted to Auburn and they drove the field and went up 31-28. Maybe I am wrong??

Yes, Cecil was running all over AU and Dinardo called a pass with Herb on 3 rd down, incomplete and Craig took auburn right down the field.

Encourage all you young pups to watch the Cecil Collins game. If you have never seen it, you will not beleive your eyes.

Lou Tepper didn't get here until after the '97 season. I think he was the coordinator for the I-bowl that year, but not during the season. I know he gets alot of blame, but we can't pin that loss to auburn on his d.

The D Coord that year was Carl Reese. And yes, Auburn could not stop Cecil, so when Herb Tyler threw an incomplete pass on that 3rd and short we couldn't believe it.

That game made me sick. The dude clearly didn't get in the endzone initially but rolled in after he was down.

I do want to watch the Cecil Collins game, though. I remember he dove into the endzone and didn't get flagged on one TD run.

Tepper was thousands of miles away. Blame Herb Tyler for a terrible start. Blame DiNardo for not going with the hot hand and instead forcing Tyler to make plays. Blame Carl Reese for not having his defense look like they should. Blame Dameyune Craig, Ty Goodson, and Hicks Poor for shredding us. Ced Donladson, Chris Cummings, Raion Hill, Mark Roman, and the 3rd string SS we had in the game - Clifton White - were lit up like not many else have been lit up.
