I’m sorry, what exactly is the expectation for a high level college CF? A healthy Gio could easily be a 0.340 hitter with plenty of doubles and a few triples. And he can do that at the top of a lineup. He’s the best defensive CF we have too. I don’t get where y’all are coming from here as if that hamstring had zero effect on him.

This is neither here nor there, but it combines the two most recent baseball threads on this board.
Gio is the last guy on the roster to commit to LSU before Cannizaro left. He is joined by Dugas and Cade Doughty as the only remaining guys to commit before the switch.
ETA: I previously said Beloso instead of Cade Doughty, that was in error. Beloso was committed to Tulane and then switched to LSU sometime after Cain became the RC.

I like Gio a lot, reminds me a lot of Andrew Stevenson. His hammy injury was definitely a factor this year because it kept him from getting into a rhythm offensively. Him being healthy for the Tenn super *could have* made a difference for us

He’s a career .292/367/.380 hitter
That’s a long way from an “easy” .340
He’s fast but he plays an average CF. Doesn’t have great instincts tracking balls. His arm is a zero.
He can be upgraded. But if you trot out a strong lineup he wouldn’t stick out as much.
