This is all bullshite. And its getting old that the NBA doesnt put an end or curtail the media from the clickbait speculation that is ruining fans commitment to their team bc they cant count on their stars to remain loyal, when the 1st hurdle or setback befells them.
If the Pels are trying to correct a wrong and right the ship, by firing Van Gundy, which is commendable bc of the money owed to him now and still paying Gentry, why the hell is it now that EVERYONE and dey momma wants to bash the Pels?
Carlisle just "resigned" from Dallas, due to Doncic, allegedly being unhappy. Sounds familiar? But, I bet today nobody will be saying the Dallas franchise will be locating in the next decade.
Im for player's empowerment but this shite is getting out of hand. A bunch of whiny babies who want to gang up like AAU ball and beat up on the small market teams who cant compete simply because of location and economics.
The next collective bargaining agreement needs to address the issue of how to ensure stars are spread out evenly amongst the teams and make it difficult, not impossible, for stars to just team up and guarantee a Conf Finals appearance, at least.
Also, the League needs to figure out how small market teams, who have done well scouting and drafting quality players, can keep their homegrown talent. OKC basically was penalized for drafting well when they had to get rid of Harden bc of luxury tax purposes. That scenario doesnt bode well for the Pels if all their youngsters pan out bc they will have to make tough choices as who to keep, trade or let walk.
So, having a warchest of assests and possibly drafting well from it eventually ends up a negative bc you cant sustain the core for many years.
Another thing, these agents and their influence over organizations by forcing their client's (players) to vocally be disgruntled and requests trades is another HUGE problem for the League.
All of this nonsense has become an extreme negative bc of LeBron and his Klutch Sports agency with Rich Paul. Again, Im all for what good it has done to allow other individuals, minorities specifically, to be included as legitimate options to the establishment, but Rich Paul is fricking it up for the next generation of those who would want the same. The Major sports leagues will figure out a way to limit the pool of viable candidates to represent player's in their respective leagues and the NBA is already trying to do so by implementing certain "requirements" such as agents needing a college degree and other restrictive measures which are a glaring attempt to keep the "Rich Paul's" out of the League's hair.
All this utilizing the media and forcing players to become malcontents so teams have no choice but to trade them to their destination of choice will be the deathnell of the NBA.
