The Coaches Know More Than Us

About 20 years ago I was at a HS football game, standing at end of field watching game with school administrators and a friend. My friend was a loyal Coach supporter. He played college baseball. A play was run and I said, “WHY did he run that?”
My friend turned to me and said, “We’re you at practice this week? Do you know who’s injured and who’s not?” Of course, the answer was no.
But I got the point. The Coaches knew more than I did. I’m guessing LSU’s Coaches know more than we do.

Doesn’t that logic make all coaches infallible forever

Maybe Coach wasn’t at practice either.

I’m positive that they do , but it doesn’t make them immune to making mistakes. Pulling Hilliard who had a low pitch count and had retired 15-18 was just flat out DUMB! His struggles came in the inning right after the rain delay and then he got in his groove. I’m guessing it’s that to which you are referring too, and I’m shocked that some of you keep defending this jackass

I’m pretty sure my time management skills are better than Les Miles and that I could’ve figured out running the ball up the middle against Bama wouldn’t work.

Yep. Today’s going to be a great day. I’m already winning because I woke up without a headache from all the bourbon I drank last night lol. Going to a crawfish boil this afternoon and watching the Tigers even this series.

His reasoning for pulling him was beyond idiotic! Well, Javen did well last week, so he should be able to do the exact same thing this week, right?
It’s clear CPM has no clue what he’s doing anymore

No…there are times when mistakes are made but, in general, they know more than we do and if they are wrong, they are held accountable.

No, it just makes ranters retarded. Not a soul here knows what's happening with the team better than those who are on the team in some capacity.
But don't let it stop the drama.

He said he pulled Hilliard because the top of UT’s order was due up & they would have seen Hilliard 3 times.

By whom? I’m curious to who you are referring to here.

Sometimes you outthink yourself. While the above may have been true and the initial plan was to avoid Hilliard facing the top of the order a 3rd time sometimes the situation in front of you calls for deviating from the plan. The kid was pitching well in a one run game with a relatively low pitch count. If it was working why go away from it just because you had already predetermined you would? All coach's have a game plan. But if a guy has a hot hand sometimes the best "plan" is just to get out of the way.

How are you related to Paul? There is really no other explanation for the ridiculous threads you have been starting about him.
We are distant cousins. Eat out with his family occasionally.
I am kidding, of course…I do not believe PM is the anti-Christ, like some do. Has he made mistakes? Yes. Over the years, I wish he would have bunted more. But he is a good man and one of the best Coaches in college baseball. But most LSU fans blame him for the greenhouse effect. HE is one of the reasons we are even playing in a Super Regional. I’m not a People hater. I like to be objective and lots of LSU fans aren’t being objective with him.

Ok let’s take a look at this statement. Hadn’t LSU batters seen Tennessee’s pitcher 3 times ? They didn’t pull him, and Hilliard was just as in command of the game as he was. If you watched the same game I watched then it was clear that the umpire was very lenient on strike calls for Dallas but Hilliard wasn’t getting those same strike locations or Dallas wouldn’t have had 85 strikeouts last night. I feel that our hitters were frustrated with the umps strike zone and were forced to swing at pitches well out of the strike zone for fear of them being called strikes. Even I could see that and I drank a half bottle of bourbon last night lol

Can you give me Hillard's stats the third time thru the order. Since we are second guessing the coaches, lets go back and look at previous post from some of the posters here and see what they had to say about this loser team.
