That seemed to be my lot in life. I always inherited the crappiest situations. Had to work hard to overcome and always made the unit a much better one in the long run.

If this Officer serves two years in Battalion Command and then attends the military school that you mentioned as a Resident Student, then this is no punishment at all.

Many commands last only one year, so, holding a Battalion Command for two years is no punishment at all.

Attending a military school as a Resident Student is certainly no punishment. In fact, it's a reward for good service. It's what happens to the Army's best Lieutenant Colonels, it seems to me.

Do I understand things correctly here?
