You grew up in a totally different poor environment than I did
My broke arse cousins would destroy their shite cars at BR raceway on Friday nights, repair them, and then run them through the pasture on Saturdays

I am unfortunately from one of the poorest, most rural counties in the country. I am pretty sure poor people do stupid shite all the time.
White people jack their shite up and do donuts in muddy fields.
Black people put 24s on their Crown Vic and paint an M&Ms logo on the door. For some reason.
White people put vinyl lettering on their windows to memorialize their friend that died in a dirt bike accident.
Black people put crown air fresheners on their dashboard.
