But I do agree that it is beyond stupid that there is the option for it to open every 30min. Change it to hourly at the least IMO.

I sit at it multiple times a week, it definitely opens when a boat isn't needing to pass.

They changed this so that is doesn't open from 4pm-6pm. Still opens every 30mins the rest of the time.
