Are you referencing the game where Kevin Durant took the ball down full court and hit the game deciding bucket in LeBrons face on his homecourt, when the Cavs were defending champs? Kingslayer Day?
Yes. That game. The same game that the Cavs outscored the Warriors by 7 points in Lebron’s almost 46 minutes, but were outscored by 12 in the 2 minutes (and 23 seconds) that Lebron sat. The same game that Warriors were +0 in Durant’s 41 minutes but +5 in the 7 minutes he sat.

Durant had an all-time great Finals series, and was a very deserving MVP. Lebron also had an all time great finals series.

The difference was that the Warriors were the greatest team of all time, so good that they went 18-4 without Durant (including 2-0 in the playoffs); so good that they were almost +10 per 100 possessions in the PLAYOFFS WITHOUT Durant (one of the greatest players of all time) off the court; and so good that Durant was getting easy layups because the Cavs decided to double-team the greatest shooter off all time instead.

So Durant sat against the scrubs. And LeBron played with the second unit?
Cool cool.

But let’s get back to the nitty gritty.

Durant snatches the rebound from Love. LeBrons low defensive IQ doesn’t realIze what’s happening until half court when the supposed best player couldn’t stop the alleged second best player from 35 feet out. When it mattered most

In his grill and in your soul forever. It tortured LeBron so much, his PTSD kicked in the next year and refused to guard Durant in the similar situation leaving it to poor battered JR Smith.

The day he took the Cavs franchise and put it to bed. Never winning another finals game against him.

He became the best player in the league by taking it from the other guy, not by other dudes getting too old.

And now look at your Cavs, back to the losers from a shithole state. With soft teams across the board.

I’m pouring one out for the souls the Slim Reaper claimed that day. Join me in a drink of remembrance! Happy Kingslayer Day friend!
