Only advice I have is to buy direct flight (get there as fast as possible), buy the baby a seat so you have 3 continuous seats together, and bring anything you have that will help the baby to sleep on the flight (car seat, white noise, blanket, pacifier, etc.)
Believe it or not, most people out there have had kids and nobody will care that much if your baby starts getting fussy or crying for a bit especially if you are making an attempt to soothe the baby. Wouldn't worry about the people out there who are actively angry about sharing a plane with other people....they should book a private jet if thats what they think a $300 flight entitles them to.
